Editor’s Notes – June 2026

written by BVC June 30, 2026

Dear Readers,

Despite some global economic woes and world events that have taken center stage over the last few months, the Caribbean region continues to see growth in key areas. Tourism numbers are up, housing and the construction trades are in high demand, and businesses are going from strength to strength, capitalizing on local talent and expertise to get the job done.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Integrated Building Services Ltd, Alfrasure Structures and Roofing, and Alvair Ltd, to discuss the projects, workforce needs, and success within the Caribbean construction and infrastructure sectors.

With construction demand on the rise, the need for both affordable and beautifully designed homes and commercial spaces remains center stage. The products, including the concrete to build them, remain essential, and the critical infrastructure to solidify strong foundations remains paramount.

We also sat down with Banesco USA, Caribbean Chicken Ltd, and the Jolly Harbour Marina and Boatyard, to learn about what projects are underway, as well as some of their winning best practices that make them tick. All three leading companies are seamlessly pivoting to a rapidly changing economy while keeping their priorities front and center.

For our June issue, we also bring you in-depth profile features of The Turks & Caicos Port Authority and the Caribbean Maritime University. Both influential organizations are welcoming growth and innovation as they look to the workforce and economic needs of the region.

Business View Caribbean also profiles two thriving sector-focused associations based in the region, the Caribbean Energy Chamber and the Puerto Rico Builders Association. Helping guide their members and keep on top of industry and sector realities helps steer their focus through 2026.

As with every issue, my hope as editor-in-chief is that our valued readers continue to learn something new about the business picture across the stunning Islands with each issue we produce for you.
